CubeCMP configuration overview

Before CubeCMP can provide cloud services to end users, a number of initial configuration tasks must be completed. These steps establish the foundational structure for access control, resource management, and service delivery within the platform.

Configure a newly installed CubeCMP cluster

The following configuration steps prepare the CubeCMP environment for user access and resource provisioning.

Prerequisite

  • Deploy AppFramework and the CubeCMP portal without errors

Create projects

Define projects to logically group users, workloads, and resources. Projects serve as the primary organizational unit for managing ownership, isolation, and resource consumption.

Create and manage users

Create user accounts and assign them access to one or more projects. User roles and permissions determine the actions each user can perform within the platform.

Configure project quotas and resource allocation

Set quotas and allocation policies for each project to control the consumption of compute, storage, and networking resources. This ensures fair usage, prevents resource exhaustion, and supports capacity planning.

Upload and configure operating system images

Upload supported operating system images and configure image metadata to enable users to provision virtual machines and services within their assigned projects.

Summary

Completing these configuration steps prepares CubeCMP to securely and efficiently deliver cloud resources to users.
