Create a firewall

Learn how to create a firewall for your entities or network.

Create a firewall

  1. In the CubeCMP management console, go to the Networking page.
  2. Navigate to the Firewall tab.
  3. To start the firewall creation flow, click + Add Firewall.
  4. Fill in the Name and Description block.
    • Name: Enter a name for the firewall.
    • Description (Optional): Enter a description for the firewall.
  5. To configure the firewall rules, follow these steps:
    1. Click + Add Rule.
    2. Select the Direction, click Inbound or Outbound.
      • Inbound: Select this option to allow or deny incoming traffic to your entities or network.
      • Outbound: Select this option to allow or deny outgoing traffic from your entities or network.
    3. Select the Protocol. Select a common protocol, or select TCP or UDP to specify custom ports.
    4. Select the Source. Select the Source to specify the source IP addresses to be filtered.
      • Specify IP range: Enter your custom IP range.
      • Specify Private Networks: Select one or more networks from your private networks.
  6. Apply the firewall to your entities or network at Apply Scope block.
    • Apply to Entities: Select the entities to apply the firewall to.
      • Apply to Instance: Select instances to apply the firewall to.
      • Apply to Auto Scaling Group: Select auto scaling groups to apply the firewall to.
    • Apply to Network: Select networks from your private network to apply the firewall to.
  7. Click Create Firewall.
