# Installation overview

> Learn about the initial configuration steps required for CubeCMP deployments.

CubeCMP is deployed as a Kubernetes application. It is built on AppFramework, an integration framework that provides access to compute, storage, and networking resources and serves as the foundation for interacting with the underlying infrastructure. CubeCMP and AppFramework are part of a commercial offering by Bigstack.

## Prerequisites {#prerequisites}

Before you begin, ensure the following requirements are met:

- A functioning CubeCOS cluster (version 2.4.0 or later)
- AppFramework package image
- CubeCMP portal installation package

## CubeCMP installation process overview {#cubecmp-installation-process-overview}

The following installation steps install the CubeCMP environment for user access and resource provisioning.

### Install AppFramework {#install-appframework}

Deploy the core services and integrations required for Kubernetes to communicate with the underlying infrastructure services.

### Install the CubeCMP portal {#install-the-cubecmp-portal}

Deploy the CubeCMP application on top of AppFramework to provide the user-facing service portal.

### Post installation {#post-installation}

After installation, follow the configuration guides to set up projects, define resource allocations, integrate public cloud services, and deliver user-accessible cloud resources.
