# Troubleshoot insufficient resources error

> Learn how to resolve insufficient resource errors that prevent resource creation.

This guide explains how to identify and resolve insufficient resource errors when creating virtual hosts, containers, or disks within a project. These issues are typically related to reaching defined project quotas.

## Identify resource quota issues {#identify-resource-quota-issues}

To identify resource quota issues:

1. **Review error categories:**
   - Check the error messages in the user interface. Common issues include:
     - Insufficient disk space
     - Insufficient memory
     - Other resource limitations (e.g., CPU cores, network ports)
2. **Check project activity:**
   - Navigate to **Project Home > Summary > Activities** in the user interface.
   - Look for events confirming resource quota violations or failures due to resource constraints.
3. **Confirm resource status:**
   - In the Infrastructure service, switch to the project experiencing the issue.
   - Navigate to the **Overview** section and review current resource usage against the project's allocated quotas.

## Adjust project quotas {#adjust-project-quotas}

If a resource shortage is confirmed, administrators can adjust project quotas using the Admin Panel (recommended for common adjustments) or the CubeCOS Infrastructure service (for advanced adjustments).

:::info

Ensure resource quota adjustments align with the requested quota.

### Adjust resources via the infrastructure service {#adjust-resources-via-the-infrastructure-service}

To adjust resources using the Infrastructure service:

1. Log in to the cloud platform as an administrator.
2. Navigate to **Integrations > OpenStack** and click **Connect** to manage infrastructure quotas.
3. Switch to the **Administrative Panel**. For more details, see [How to Navigate to the CubeCOS Administrative Panel](https://docs.bigstack.co/docs/cubecos/identity/administrator-view).
4. Navigate to **Identity > Projects** to view the list of projects within the cluster.
5. Click **More** for the target project and select **Edit Quota**.
6. Adjust the relevant quota values to meet the new project requirements.
7. Click **OK** to save and apply the changes.
