Bigstack Life Cycle Planning
Bigstack delivers an eight-year life cycle in Full Support and Maintenance Support Phases with an optional 2-year Extended Life Cycle Support. The optional Extended Life Cycle Support (ELS), a yearly subscription for professional and technical services, provides support that extends past the maintenance phase. The following sections outline the support policies and define relevant product milestones.
Life Cycle Milestones Definitions
- General Availability (GA): The date when the product is made available to the general public and can be purchased via our purchasing programs.
- End of Feature Phase: The date when the product transitions into the maintenance phase. No new features will be added to the product after this date.
- End of Maintenance (EOM): The date when the codebase will no longer receive maintenance.
- End of Life (EOL): The date when no more feature, security, and maintenance builds will be provided for the codebase, and product downloads will be made unavailable. Bigstack will no longer offer relevant technical support.
Service Terms Definitions
- Professional Service: Bigstack’s engineers can provide professional service to help plan and deploy your CUBE.COS enterprise cloud platform.
- Technical Support: Technical support is enabled by Bigstack or Bigstack technical service partners to address technical issues or service requirements.
- Major Releases: Major releases include substantial modifications to the CUBE platform, covering Operating System upgrades, comprehensive feature revisions, and other larger-scale improvements.
- Minor Releases/Cumulative Fixpacks: Updates to fix low-severity security issues, minor bug fixes, and optimizations to existing software.
- Hotfix: Rapid releases of critical fixes to address production-affecting bugs or security issues.
- Software Enhancements: Enhancements may include new features and optimizations to improve the user experience.
Support Phases Definitions
- Full Support: During the Full Support phase, Bigstack fully supports the product with software enhancements, hotfixes, minor releases, relevant professional services, and technical support. At the end of the full support phase, the product will be at the end of the feature phase, and no new features will be added after the date.
- Maintenance Phase: Maintenance support includes professional service and technical support, hotfix, and minor releases/cumulative fixpacks. No software enhancements will be released during the maintenance phase. At the end of the maintenance phase, the product will be End of Maintenance (EOM), and Bigstack will end maintenance for the codebase.
- Extended Life Cycle Support: The optional Extended Life Cycle Support is designed to offer continued professional service and technical support for up to two years beyond the standard software life cycle, resulting in 8-years of coverage. The product will be End of Life (EOL) at the end of the extended life cycle support.
